Adapting original graphic novels into another language is a job for creative people with a broad outlook and a wide vocabulary.
It is not easy to translate a graphic novel so that it remains interesting to the reader and doesn’t lose the author’s idea.
Of course, in these stories the main volume is drawings, but their role is to bring the reader’s imagination to life, and the idea itself is conveyed by the text part.
Texts of comics contain a lot of emotional expressions, exclamations, allusions to known facts or events, jargon and elements of street slang.
In order to translate comics into a foreign language, the translator does not need to refer to a dictionary of meanings, but to express the author’s opinion by using the most appropriate means of the native language. And this requires a creative approach.
